Annual Internal School Art Competition

 Spring Term 2010

This term Mrs Sharon Hemingway (our Art Manager) has organised for all pupils within school to participate in our annual art competition. Each pupil within school has had the opportunity to produce a piece of artwork during their class art lessons linked with their class topics for the spring term. Classes have worked with a range of media including pastels, paints and collage materials and all work (including the 24 winners) is currently on display around the school.

The art competition has been judged once again by Miss Karen Sankey who is our ‘Artist in Residence’ and is also Head of Art at Kettlethorpe High School in Wakefield. Miss Sankey regularly liaises with Mrs Hemingway in an aim to raise the standard of the teaching & learning of art at Shafton Primary School.

Miss Sankey selected 3 winners out of every class.
