Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope that everyone had a good Christmas break. It is lovely to see all the children back and settling into their new class. They are still looking extremely smart and I am excited about teaching Year 4 for the rest of the year.
Timetable
- PE is on a Monday and Wednesday and is taught by myself and Mr Netherwood. Pupils need to bring the appropriate kit and remember not to wear earrings on these days. Please ensure P.E kits remain in school all week as there are often other opportunities for outdoor P.E.
- Homework day is Friday and they will bring home spellings and these will be tested on a Thursday, Maths and Literacy will consolidate what is being taught in class. Please help and guide your child with homework tasks and comment in the homework diary.
- Children are encouraged to read regularly at home. Children also complete guided reading in a group weekly and complete follow up work throughout the week relating to the task.
- Our themes for this term are Keeping Things Warm in Science and in our topic is history, based on mythical creatures and comparing lives now and in Victorian times.
- We have our music lessons with Miss Stacey on a Thursday morning.
- Mrs Craddock will continue to work in class this term.
- My ‘PPA’ (planning, preparation and assessment) time will be on a Wednesday afternoon, Mrs Mrs Nuttall and Mr Netherwood will deliver Art and P.E during PPA time. My management and leadership time is Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning and during this time they will be taught by Mrs Nuttall.
