Shafton Three Lions arranged and produced by marjelmusic.

Shafton Verse 1

Fabio really knows the score

Fans cheering more and more

We just know

Trust our hearts

We know we are the

Best team around

No need for stress

England’s the best

United we sing…

Shafton Verse 2

We are shouting in the street

Because we have a chance

Chance to dance

Land of coal

Our time to shine and

Lots of great cheers

No need for tears

Collect souvenirs

And loudly singing…

Three Lions-Chronicle

We’ve been working on this for a while, but the pupils didn’t know it was Jingle Bells until a couple of weeks ago! They’d worked on the rhythm track - without the tune - as part of classroom music lessons.

They’ve added percussion (chime bars, bass drum, claves etc), keyboard, recorders, and, of course, all the voices. All of their recording was done in their classroom and everyone contributed.

The pupils have also written the lyrics for verse 2, which starts the song as well in the version you have.

Gone by Class 6 – a music project

All of the drums, tambourines and guitars, and some of the vocals on this track – Gone - were all recorded by Class 6 and then added to previously recorded elements of the song. All of the Class are on the recording – see who you can spot!

We have various mixes of the song. On Gone 3-7-09 it’s probably easier to identify the children’s contribution. The pupils have also designed a label for the CD version.

Led by Mrs Emson and assisted by Miss Cummings, pupils have worked on dance for the song. We hope to add some video footage of their achievements later.

What to listen for:

Vocals:
1.Class all speak ‘gone’ together. The word is repeated throughout the track.
2.Individuals volunteered to record the word ‘gone’.
3.One pupil recorded the words: ‘Even when you’re gone’ and this appears a few times.

Guitar:
There is a plucked chord played on an acoustic guitar repeated during the song. On Gone 3-7-09 there is also an electric guitar single note that comes in at times.

Percussion:
All percussion on both versions is produced by Class 6. Listen with headphones for best effect.

Gone – review by Daniel with contributions from other members of class 6
I really enjoyed recording Gone. The piano, keyboards and main vocal were already recorded. We added all the drums (bass and snare) and percussion (tambourines). We had learned to play and write the music for crotchets and quavers.
The classical and electric guitars were added by Alex, Jacob and me. All the Class recorded backing vocals and some of us recorded individual words along with Aaron who says ‘Even when you’re gone.

All of Class 6 took part in the activity, and we all enjoyed it. We created many different versions of the track and to make it more interesting we all had a go at designing a CD label.
Some of us did a dance to go with the song with Mrs Emson.

I myself thought it was a great experience to make a CD.
‘The project was fun’ – Brandon
‘I would love to do it all over again’ – Lucy
‘ enjoyed recording this track’ –Daniel

All about class 6, by class 6 !

Class 6 have a new name, we are to be known as Owls class.
Our class has 29 of the best pupils in the whole school in it. We work hard and behave well. Our class target is ‘To reduce noise levels’. We are very organised in class 6 and know what is expected of us at each part of the day.
Our work is interesting and enjoyable. We bring things in to help with special projects.
Our teaching assistants: Mrs Craddock, Mrs Ward and Mr Booth are really kind and helpful, they help us with our work and when we are ill. We also benefit from visiting students from Barnsley College. Pupils are never ignored. We get help with our playground problems. We get lots of help to do our best. Our good work is noticed. We all have personal targets to work towards. We answer the register in lots of different languages. We can choose which one that we want to use
We enjoy art projects, the interactive whiteboard, ICT lessons, and PE (dancing). We practise our times tables every week in class 6.
We have lots of different certificates to work towards and sometimes we watch movies. We also play some great games when we have finished our work.
We love it when our teachers allows us to do a ‘Big Write’.
We are going to try and keep attendance Fred by coming to school every day.
Class 6 is a great place to be because we help each other.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the absence of Mrs Kitchen, Mr Craddock will continue in his role as ‘Lead teacher’ for Class 6. I hope everyone had a good Easter break. Pupils will be revising for optional SATs this term and these will take place during the fortnight commencing 10 May. Please ensure your child is in school during this period as the papers are sent away for marking after each test.
