Traffic Awareness Operation Tuesday 25 May
Together with South Yorkshire Police your child has been chosen to participate in a Speed and Traffic Awareness Operation called ‘Smiley Sid’.
The operation will take place on Dog Hill in Shafton on Tuesday 25 May between 10am and 12 noon. A small number of pupils together with members of the Police force and Teaching Assistants will walk to Dog Hill and monitor the speed of the traffic. Any vehicles exceeding the speed limit will be pulled to one side and cautioned by the children. Hopefully this will make the drivers more aware of the importance to adhere to the speed limit.
