CLASS 5 & 6 VISIT TO SHIBDEN HALL THURSDAY 01 APRIL 2010
Subject to there being sufficient voluntary funds available, we have arranged for Class 5 & 6 to spend Thursday 01 April 2010 at Shibden Hall, Halifax. The visit will provide curriculum links to pupils’ work in History and there are many practical activities for them to watch or participate in to enhance their understanding.
The party will travel by bus, which will leave school at 9am and return at approximately 3.30pm. The suggested voluntary contribution per child will be £10.00 for the bus fare, insurance and entry fees. This also includes a small bag of Shibden Hall merchandise. You may, of course, pay by instalments in which case you may send £1.00 non-returnable deposit. We would, however, like all the money to be paid by Friday 26 March. Cheques made payable to Shafton Primary School.
As pupils will be representing the School, their behaviour must be of the highest standard. Attendance on such visits is, as you know, regarded as a privilege and not a right. They will travel in full school uniform and will need a coat. A packed lunch will be required; drinks should NOT be in glass bottles. Spending money is NOT required. Would you please complete and return to school as soon as possible the attached slip. Should you need further information please do not hesitate to contact Mr McClure or Mr Craddock.
Please note that since 1 April 1989 and the introduction of the Education Reform Act such activities come under the Governors' Charging Policy; if there are insufficient funds available the activity will not proceed.
