Dear Parents/Carers
You may be aware that the school was recently subject to an Ofsted HMI monitoring visit to establish the progress the school has made since being given a ‘Notice To Improve’ by Ofsted in October 2010.
I am pleased to inform you that the HMI from Ofsted monitored the progress of the school on Wednesday 11 May and found that there had been ‘satisfactory’ progress against all the areas previously identified for improvement. This means that the school is now at the point of improvement where Ofsted would expect it to be and whilst there is more to achieve, HMI was pleased with the progress made.
I attach a copy of the letter from Ofsted for your information, which provides quite specific detail of what has been achieved so far by the children, staff and governors at the school. Please take the opportunity to read the report. Should you require any further clarification about what the report is saying, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school and I will do all I can to help you fully understand the positive nature of the HMI monitoring report from Ofsted.
Best wishes
Wil Andrews,
Chair, Shafton Primary School Governing Body Ofsted Recovery Committee
