Dear Parent
I have had various complaints about the ParentMail system we are using. May I remind you that this is a statutory requirement for all Schools to offer this to parents by 2011. This is an option for parents to use the service – if you still prefer a paper copy then that is your right to do so.
As a school we have acted early to bring this service to parents and we decided to do this because we previously received complaints from parents that they were not receiving paper copies as children were losing the copy between school and home. This service is intended to prevent this from happening.
May I also add that for all the negative feedback we have received we have also received extremely positive feedback in equal measure. If you are experiencing problems with ParentMail then please do not hesitate to contact Mr Ravenscroft (Business Manager) at the school who will endeavour to solve the problem.
If you do wish to change back to a paper copy can you please put your request in writing and send this to the school office no later than 23 June 2010.
We do propose to send out a survey in the near future asking for your views on ParentMail and how we can improve the system.
I am also very concerned by recent events in which parents attitudes to school staff has been negative. As a school we work very hard to provide the best care and education to all pupils and in doing this we have in the last few years taken steps to run the school more efficiently and effectively. All decisions made in the school are based on the best interest and needs of the pupils. I am more than willing to work with parents, however the final decision lays with the Headteacher.
Yours sincerely
LJ Coverdale
